I've always admired both Fairfax & Favor and Zara's impeccable style, so when I got the chance to try the Regina boots, I was thrilled. And while I expected them to look great, they surpassed my expectations in ways I hadn't anticipated – specifically, the feelings they evoke while wearing them.
Though summer may not be the prime season for knee high boots, I've found these boots to be surprisingly versatile, working well with various outfits. However, heads up – Regina boots don't come cheap and do have their trade-offs. Here's my unfiltered take if you're considering making an investment.
Unboxing the Regina Boots
If you decide to purchase Fairfax & Favor boots, you'll have your new kicks in no time. I was pleasantly surprised and stoked to receive mine just a day after my order, a rarity compared to the usual parcel being heaved in my garden hedge by Evri.
The packaging echoes the product's luxury and class, adorned in the brand's signature blue and gold shades. It screams royalty and adds to the excitement as you unveil the boots. And the matchless bags inside for storage? Adds a touch of elegance to boot (pun intended).
Pricing the Regina Boots
Regina boots come in multiple styles to cater to different tastes, ranging from the height of the heel, type of material, calf fit, and more. Prices start at £395 and max out at £465 depending on style.
Considering the exceptional quality and craftsmanship, these boots are an investment piece that, with proper care, can last for years.
Fit and Size of the Regina Boots
The Regina boot comes in either regular, sporting, or narrow, primarily concerning the fit around your calf. However, deciding the right size can be tricky since both the boot height and calf width increase with foot size.
The brand states both the heeled and high-heeled Regina boots I tested come with an additional 4cm of stretch, distributed across 5 elastic panels to accommodate a range of calf sizes. Interestingly enough, both boots fit true to size.
Since I have wide feet, I ordered a size 6 in the regular fit burgundy high-heeled Regina and a size 6 in the sporting fit black heeled Regina boots to compare the fit.
The regular fit burgundy high heels were a tight squeeze even on bare legs. As I zipped them up, I felt skin pinching uncomfortably all the way up to the top. Suffice it to say, these boots don't leave much room for any clothing underneath.
Moving up to a size 7 helped, as the larger size was easier to put on. Unfortunately, the increased foot size made the boot height taller, making it impossible to bend my leg, let alone walk or sit down.
The sporting fit black heeled Regina boots, on the other hand, were an excellent fit. The sporting fit can stretch an extra 6cm, which seemed to be what my calves needed to be easily done up.
I must admit that getting these boots on and off wasn't the easiest, especially for people with mobility issues. The zips, placed on the outside of your leg, do require some maneuvering, which might be challenging for some.
Comfort and Support of the Regina Boots
Finding the right size and fit might take some consideration, and getting them on can be a bit tricky, but once you're wearing them, it's all forgotten. The soft, fully leather-lined interior and memory foam insoles offer exceptional comfort against your skin, and I didn't experience any discomfort or blisters. The boots' construction is evident, offering both comfort and style.
