Weekly Spotlight: Andrew O'Connor, Crusader Extraordinaire

In the heart of Worcester, Massachusetts, you'll find Andrew O'Connor, a graduating student at Holy Cross with a unique blend of interests and talents. From his favorite meal at Kimball to his dreams of working in baseball operations for the Boston Red Sox, Andrew's story is one of passion, resilience, and a love for all things Holy Cross.

Originating from Dedham, Massachusetts, Andrew has made a significant impact on the Holy Cross community. His favorite spot on campus is Father K Field, a place where he has spent countless hours playing Gaelic football, IM soccer, and flag football.

When it comes to academics, Andrew is majoring in International Studies. His favorite class taken at Holy Cross was Islam, a subject that has piqued his curiosity and deepened his understanding of different cultures.

Off-campus, Andrew has a soft spot for The Fix Burger Bar, where he savors his favorite meal, a juicy burger. But when it comes to music, he has a taste for a wider range - from the catchy beats of Taylor Swift, his guilty pleasure, to the melodious tunes of Coldplay, his favorite band.

Andrew's love for music extends beyond just listening. He can play a mean air guitar and often finds himself humming along to his favorite song, "Pound Cake" by Drake.

As for his favorite book, Andrew chooses "The Giver" - a thought-provoking novel that resonates with his belief in the importance of stopping to appreciate life's moments.

But life at Holy Cross hasn't always been smooth sailing for Andrew. He shares an embarrassing moment when paramedics had to take him out of the Jo on a stretcher. However, he takes this experience as a reminder to live by his words to live by, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it" - Ferris Bueller.

Mootsmas, Holy Cross's annual winter carnival, holds a special place in Andrew's heart. It's a memory he cherishes, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and fun that is synonymous with the Holy Cross community.

Post-graduation, Andrew plans to work in baseball operations for the Boston Red Sox. He has already trained in scouting and baseball operations since graduating from Holy Cross, ready to bring his passion for the game to the professional level.

One thing Andrew would change at Holy Cross is less hills. But despite this, he looks forward to having a relaxing class enrollment on his Holy Cross Bucket List.

In his downtime, Andrew enjoys going to lunch with his friends, sipping on his favorite drink at Cool Beans, an Oreo Milkshake. When he goes home, driving his car is something he looks forward to, a simple pleasure that brings him joy.

As the sun sets on his time at Holy Cross, Andrew O'Connor leaves a lasting impression. His love for the College, his passion for his studies, and his dedication to his dreams make him a true Holy Cross Crusader.
