White Dinner Event Returns to Harburg's Stadtpark on August 31

The 12th edition of the White Dinner event is set to take place on August 31, 2025, in Harburg's picturesque Stadtpark. Organised by Harburg Marketing and the Harburg Railway Construction Association, this communal picnic invites people from various cultures, ages, and nationalities to gather and celebrate in a beautiful summer evening atmosphere.

Setup and Participation

Participants are asked to bring their own picnic settings, including white tablecloths, chairs, or picnic blankets, cutlery, and dishes. Setup begins at 4 PM, with the event starting promptly at 5 PM. The event is designed as an open-air picnic, and attendees are encouraged to spread out around the Außenmühlenteich to enjoy the outdoor space together. The event is open to all, and people are invited to come with their own food and drinks to share a relaxed, friendly communal experience.

White Attire and Additional Features

The event is known as "Weißes Dinner," meaning attendees dress in white clothing. This common white dress code adds to the visual unity and elegance of the gathering. Previous editions of the event have featured magical walking acts, soap bubbles, white ladies on stilts, a live sketcher, and a special light show, creating a festive and enchanting ambiance. The light show is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.

Community and Sustainability

In line with the event's focus on community, public toilets will be available, and an ice cream truck will be on site for those hot summer days. As part of the "Harburg treats" project, free ice cream will be distributed to attendees. To promote sustainability, disposable cutlery and dishes are discouraged. Instead, participants are asked to bring their own reusable alternatives.

Prizes and Decorations

The Hamburger Sparkasse am Sand is giving away five fully stocked picnic baskets in advance. Creativity in decorations is also encouraged, with participants invited to bring their own candle holders, flowers, and white decorations to add to the event's visual appeal.

Leaving a Lasting Impact

To ensure the continuation of the White Dinner event in future years, participants are asked to take their belongings home and leave the area clean. Harburg Marketing will provide free trash bags and pocket ashtrays for this purpose.

The White Dinner event in Harburg's Stadtpark is a culturally inclusive, visually striking summer event that brings together people from all walks of life to enjoy a communal picnic in elegant white attire, complemented by artistic performances and a beautiful park setting.
