Neustadt in Holstein, a charming town on Germany's northern coast, is gearing up for an exciting summer filled with a diverse range of activities for children and young people. The programme, which kicks off this summer, offers over 90 free and paid activities, making it an ideal destination for families seeking fun-filled holidays.

The programme, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, includes weekly children's theater performances, crafting sessions, nature walks, music evenings, city tours, and sailing experiences.

Little ones as young as two can look forward to the children's puppet theater, held at a local cultural venue. For a more interactive experience, there's the Mitspieltheater-Märchen, where an actor plays all roles. Crafting sessions throughout the summer encourage kids to let their creativity shine, while relaxed evening music sessions near sunset offer a soothing backdrop to end the day.

Nature lovers can embark on a nature walk in Kammerwald forest followed by a refreshing dip at the Hundestrand dog beach. City tours highlighting the sights of Neustadt in Holstein provide an educational and enjoyable experience. For those interested in sailing, the new yacht "Strandkind" offers sailing experiences, including a 5-hour course covering important information and safety rules.

Many of these events take place in open public spaces such as the Marktplatz, Kammerwald forest, and presumably near the harbor for sailing activities. The city market happens on Tuesdays and Fridays, offering fresh local food which may complement family outings.

Registration for the summer programme can be made at any time by personal arrangement with the Ferienspaß team. Students from outside or higher grades can pick up the print copy at Jugendcafé at Kremper Tor, Jugendtreff at Gogenkrog, or Familientreff at Westpreußenring. The Jugendtreff at Gogenkrog offers registration times for the summer programme on Monday to Thursday, 3 PM to 6:30 PM. The Jugendcafé at Kremper Tor offers registration times from Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Bookings for the offers can be made starting July 7th. The programme is available online at stadt-neustadt.ferienprogramm-online.de. This year, printed copies of the programme will be distributed at Neustadt schools up to the 8th grade this week.

Approximately half of the activities are new to the programme, making it an exciting exploration for both returning and new visitors. The funding for the summer programme is provided through the "Künste öffnen Welten" funding programme of the "Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung" federal programme, via the Children and Youth Network.

So, pack your bags and head to Neustadt in Holstein this summer for an unforgettable experience of learning, fun, and adventure!
