Urban Legend and Transport Personnel Study Initiated in Yakutsk by SUOL (PUTY)
The city of Yakutsk is set to welcome a new socio-cultural project next year. Known as "SUOL (THE WAY)", the initiative has been launched by state corporation VEB.RF and supported by the city administration.
The project is a collaborative effort between a team of creative cluster "Kvartal Truda" residents and representatives of Yakutsk's creative communities. The goal of SUOL is to offer an immersive exploration of the urban environment through visual art, audio guides, and personal stories, showcasing the cultural uniqueness of Yakutsk.
The artistic direction of the project features visualizations of local legends, drivers' stories, and images of Yakutsk. One of the key directions is an audio guide titled "Legends of the Tuimaada Valley". Another key direction is a series called "Yakutsk Through the Eyes of Drivers".
Oleg Rakitov, head of VEB.RF's socio-cultural programs, considers SUOL an example of how infrastructure transformations can go hand in hand with creative solutions. Yakutsk Mayor Yevgeny Grigoryev expressed confidence that the project will engage passengers, residents, and guests of Yakutsk in the unique history of the city.
According to a study by "Kvartal Truda", 72.2% of respondents preferred the format of QR-code accessible audio guides in buses, while 47.3% expressed interest in a mixed format combining educational and entertaining elements.
The team behind SUOL invites everyone to participate, partner, and share ideas. If you have any feedback or suggestions, you can send them to [email protected]. The project's director, Natalia Narushevich, stated that the project idea emerged from real public demand.
As we approach October 2025, the city of Yakutsk is eagerly awaiting the premiere of SUOL (THE WAY). This innovative project promises to offer a unique and engaging experience, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Yakutsk like never before.
The SUOL project, with its focus on home-and-garden lifestyle and sustainable living, aims to incorporate local legends, drivers' stories, and visualizations of Yakutsk into an immersive exploration of the city's urban environment. This innovative initiative invites everyone to partner, share ideas, and engage with the unique history of Yakutsk, as the project offers a blend of educational and entertaining elements, accessible through QR-code audio guides in buses.
