The State Road Authority (SRA) has announced that it will commence road repairs on the L 158 between Losheim and Mettlach in the Merzig-Wadern district on July 21, 2025. The repairs will span approximately 2,700 meters and are expected to take around four weeks, subject to suitable weather conditions.

The repair works will extend from the intersection with the L 374 (small Potsdam Square) to the junction with Mettlacher Street, heading towards Mettlach. During the construction period, the road will be fully closed due to the narrow road width, and the construction site will be closed for the duration of the works.

Motorists are advised to consider any foreseeable disruptions in their route planning and to allow adequate travel time. Turning traffic at the L 158/L 374 intersection will be temporarily rerouted via a three-way signalized intersection. The same applies in the reverse direction from Mettlach to Losheim, with the detour route from Losheim to Mettlach via Britten.

The repairs will include resurfacing, markings, and ancillary works. Traffic disruptions are anticipated during the construction period, and the SRA urges motorists to be patient and follow the detour routes and traffic signals. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it's advisable to check with local authorities or transportation services in the area. They would be able to provide the latest details on road closures and detour routes.

Despite the temporary road closure between Losheim and Mettlach, residents can still maintain their lifestyle with home-delivery services within the affected area. Home-and-garden enthusiasts in the Merzig-Wadern district may need to adjust their home-improvement schedule due to the long road works on L 158, lasting four weeks from July 21, 2025.
