Upcoming change: Ice cream parlor to transform into Ukrainian food or vitamin bar.
The city of Hagen is eagerly anticipating the return of the Oase pavilion in the Volkspark, as the selection process for a new tenant remains ongoing. The city administration aims to have the pavilion operational before the end of summer, with the hope of capturing some of the summer business during the "Hagen acts" event in mid-May.
Originally known as a milk bar, the Oase pavilion has seen a transformation in its catering offerings. Three finalists have emerged from an initial pool of seven, each proposing unique and diverse concepts.
First, Müller’s Cafehaus aims to create a classic café atmosphere with traditional and contemporary offerings. The focus will be on quality coffee, baked goods, and light meals, with the intention of providing a cozy and inviting space for visitors to relax.
Second, Gastrobar Genusswelt promises a modern gastrobar experience featuring regional specialties with a twist, craft beverages, and seasonal menus. The emphasis is on sustainable and locally sourced ingredients, promising a fresh and exciting dining experience.
Lastly, GreenBite Bistro offers a plant-based menu focusing on vegan and vegetarian dishes made from organic ingredients. The focus is on health-conscious, environmentally friendly cuisine in a casual setting.
The city of Hagen is looking for a long-term tenant for the Oase pavilion, and each of these concepts reflects diverse approaches to catering, ranging from traditional café culture to contemporary and sustainable dining experiences.
As the selection process continues, the second round will focus on the financial performance capability of the applicants. The city administration is optimistic about announcing the new tenant soon, and is looking forward to seeing the pavilion in use once more.
As of mid-May, twelve applications have been received for the Oase pavilion. Among the remaining three finalists, one intends to open a pizzeria, while another plans to open a restaurant serving international and Ukrainian-Russian cuisine.
