Transform Your Home with Philips Hue Essential

Philips Hue, a leading smart lighting brand, and Sonos, the renowned sound system manufacturer, have announced a series of exciting updates to their offerings. The partnership aims to deliver a more unified smart home experience, integrating light and sound.

Philips Hue's New Offerings

In September 2025, North America will see the arrival of the Hue Secure video doorbell, priced at USD 169.99. This innovative device will help improve home security by sending push notifications or turning lights on automatically when motion is detected or someone rings the bell. The latest video doorbell connected with Philips Hue security technology is manufactured by Ring.

Also launching in September is the Philips Hue Essential range, providing an affordable entry point to the Philips Hue system. The range includes A19 and BR30 bulbs, and a versatile strip light that offers a wide spectrum of white and color tones. The Philips Hue Essential A19 bulb will be available starting from US $24.99.

Philips Hue is also revamping the strip light category with a brand-new range of LED strips, featuring the Philips Hue OmniGlow, a perfectly spot-free strip based on CSP technology. The Philips Hue OmniGlow strip light will be available in North America in October 2025 for USD 139.99.

The Powerful Hue Bridge Pro

The new Hue Bridge Pro is a powerful evolution of the current Philips Hue Bridge, designed for future-ready smart lighting control. It boasts a processor five times more powerful and a memory 15 times larger than the Philips Hue Bridge. The Hue Bridge Pro supports up to 150 lights and 50 accessories, making it suitable for large Hue homes from a single Bridge.

The Hue Bridge Pro enables cutting-edge capabilities like Hue Motion AwareTM, transforming Philips Hue lights into motion sensors. It also allows users to store over 500 custom lighting scenes and enjoy faster response times across the system. The Hue Bridge Pro will be available in North America in September 2025 for USD 98.99.

Integration with Sonos Voice Control

Sonos Voice Control users will soon be able to operate Philips Hue lights using voice commands. This integration will allow for a seamless control of both light and sound in your smart home.

AI-Powered Capabilities

Hue's AI-powered capabilities continue to evolve, with the AI assistant now live in most markets. The assistant uses contextual understanding to suggest or create lighting scenes based on a user's mood, style, or occasion. Support for creating automations via the AI assistant will launch shortly.

The Hue Sync PC app will also introduce a new syncing mode that leverages AI.

A More Unified Smart Home Experience

With these updates, Philips Hue and Sonos are moving towards a more unified smart home experience, where light and sound work together to create a harmonious environment. Whether you're looking for an affordable entry into smart lighting or seeking the latest in future-ready technology, Philips Hue has something for everyone.
