Central Library Closure Extended Until October 18, 2025

The Central Library at Hallmarkt, Salzgrafenstraße 2, has announced an extension to its closure period due to ongoing renovations and maintenance work. The library will now be closed from Monday, September 22, 2025, to October 18, 2025.

The initial closure, which was scheduled to end on October 11, 2025, was due to the conversion of the lighting on the ground floor to LED and the repositioning of fixtures to improve lighting near the reception area.

During this extended closure period, the loan periods for borrowed materials from the Central Library have been further adjusted. The exact details of the new adjusted loan periods are yet to be announced.

The closure may affect scheduled events and programs during the extended period. However, the Central Library's services, such as online resources and interlibrary loans, will continue to be available during the closure.

The library has not provided any information on how the extended closure will affect the return of borrowed materials during the extended period. Additionally, the Central Library has not announced any plans for alternative locations or services during the extended closure period.

It is expected that the closure will impact the availability of resources for patrons during the extended period. The library urges patrons to plan accordingly and make use of the library's online resources during the closure.

The Central Library apologises for any inconvenience caused by the extended closure and thanks its patrons for their understanding and patience during this time. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
