Despite the extended Fasching season, they seem swamped due to the federal election weekend prior to the parade, as per the organizers' account. "The election weekend before our parade isn't exactly a blessing," admits Bettina Rusczyk, the treasurer of the Faschingsumzug association, adding that they've managed to strike a balance with the city's marketing efforts and election campaign work, along with securing sponsors to fund the event.
Contrary to popular belief, the Dillweißensteiner Karneval isn't a strictly local affair; it aspires to revive the tradition of being a gathering for local and established associations. That's why all Pforzheimer groups and associations are warmly invited to join in the parade. "We'd be thrilled to see more 'Pforzheim and surroundings' getting involved in our Karneval," shares Maite Maday Sancho, vice president of the association. Interested groups just need to whip up a creative concept to register for the parade and make their presence felt, promoting their activites and offerings. According to Fabian Sowa, there are still a few vacant spots left for the taking.
