Scheduled Appointments at Leipzig Employment Agency Start from August 25, 2025, Reducing Wait Times and Enhancing Service Delivery
The Leipzig Employment Agency is set to introduce a new appointment system as of August 25, 2025. This change aims to streamline services and improve efficiency for everyone involved.
Starting next year, customers who receive ongoing social benefits (Bürgergeld) will be required to book their appointments online. New customers, who are not yet registered or receiving Bürgergeld, must first register using the designated online system before booking an appointment.
You can schedule an appointment in two main ways:
- Online Booking:
- If you are already a customer receiving Bürgergeld, you can directly book an appointment through the Leipzig Job Centre’s online appointment portal.
- If you are a new customer, you must register first on the same site before you can book an appointment.
- By Phone: While the specific phone numbers for appointment scheduling are yet to be confirmed, it is common for job centers to offer this service via telephone. For the most accurate information, we recommend contacting the Leipzig Employment Agency directly or checking their website.
This new system is designed to manage appointments more efficiently, reducing waiting times at the agency.
It's worth noting that the Career Information Center (BiZ) and the Digi-Corner are still accessible without scheduling an appointment. Additionally, many issues can be handled without an appointment, such as registering as unemployed, applying for unemployment benefits, and reporting changes.
For more convenient handling, online methods, such as the BA-mobil app, are available for certain tasks without an appointment. Approximately 200 people visit the Leipzig Employment Agency’s reception daily, and these tasks can be done online or via the app to save time and effort.
Tina-Marie Reuter, spokesperson for the Leipzig Employment Agency, stated that the switch to online appointment scheduling will be faster and easier for everyone.
For further information and services, visit www.arbeitsagentur.de/leipzig. If you need to clarify something in person at the Leipzig Employment Agency, you'll need to schedule an appointment beforehand.
Appointment scheduling hours are Mo-Th from 8-18 and Fr from 8-14 at the Leipzig Employment Agency. For those who prefer to visit the agency, free appointments will be available within three days in most cases.
