Rural workers in Camchat region to receive housing assistance

Four families in Kamchatka Krai's rural villages received social assistance for housing purchases in 2025. The beneficiaries acquired real estate in settlements like Novoavachinskoye, Koryakskoye, Paratunskoye, and Razdol'nenskoye.

Deputy Minister Oksana Demina of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Processing Industry of Kamchatka Krai, stated that the participants were employees from the social sector (education and healthcare) in the countryside, with one being from the regional agro-industrial complex. The total area acquired was 242.9 square meters. To join the program, applicants must submit their requests to the local self-government bodies of their rural settlements.

The plan by year-end is to help an additional six families with housing improvements. Eligibility for support is extended to workers in the agro-industrial complex and the social sector living or planning to migrate to rural areas of Kamchatka Krai.

The state funds up to 70% of the housing cost, based on the maximum price per square meter (approved annually) and a per-person area norm of 33 square meters for a single person, 42 sq.m for a family of two, and 18 sq.m per person for families of three or more. The program is part of the regional project "Housing for Young Families and Rural Residents," which is a component of the state program "Comprehensive Development of Rural Territories of Kamchatka Krai." In 2025, over 34 million rubles were allocated for this purpose.

Since 2005, more than 800 families have benefited from rural housing support, including 68 families since 2020. Local government resources can be contacted for more specific details: Kamchatka Krai Ministry, 8 (4152) 22-98-00 (ext. 1833).

Kamchatka Krai's rural areas often face housing challenges due to infrastructure constraints, harsh climate conditions, and geographical isolation. Government initiatives, such as the one described above, often offer subsidies or incentives to encourage housing development and support local residents. Similar housing programs can be found on a national scale in Russia.

The housing program in Kamchatka Krai's rural areas, titled "Housing for Young Families and Rural Residents," may extend to home-and-garden lifestyle enthusiasts who choose to relocate to these villages, as it's now open to workers in the agro-industrial complex. By 2025, this program has assisted 800 families, with 68 of those being within the last five years.
