Rotary clubs are assembling 350 parcels for the Johanniter Christmas truck delivery.
*Packing Aid Parcel Fun Times in Harburg!
Ready for a heartwarming adventure this winter? Join the Rotarians from Harburg, Seevetal, and the South Elbe region as they gear up for the Johanniter Christmas Truck! These amazing folks are packing life-changing parcels, headed to those in need across Europe's poorest regions.
Over the weekend, around 50 Rotarians from the Seevetal, Hamburg-Harburg, Hamburg-Haake, and Hamburg South Elbe Rotaract Club rolled up their sleeves at the Beckedorfer Bogen industrial estate. With families in tow, they tackled the task of filling cartons with essentials like flour, sugar, rice, pasta, soap, chocolate, and a sweet gift for kids.
The helping hands worked tirelessly for approximately two hours, creating 350 parcels, neatly stacked on pallets, and wrapped for a safe journey. To top it off, the hard-working team was rewarded with a welcoming bowl of warm soup.
Detlev Dose, who organized the packing action at the Seevetal Warenhotel, announced with joy, "In addition to the 350 parcels, we already have 500 parcels from other Rotary clubs here, making it a grand total of 850 parcels!"
Want to join the action? You still have a chance! Pack your own parcel until 12 December, between 9 am and 3 pm, at any of the following locations: Johaniters, Meckelfeld (Am Blöcken 14), Buchholz (Rütgersstraße 3), Salzhausen (Bahnhofstraße 5), or Kita Krümelkiste in Neu Wulmstorf (Theodor-Heuss-Straße 74a).
Don't forget - sturdy, large cartons are free of charge at all collection points.
Although no specific details were found about the "Johanniter Christmas Truck", many other organizations, like the Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe e.V., provide emergency and humanitarian aid. If you'd prefer to support a similar holiday initiative, consider reaching out to organizations like Johanniter Unfall-Hilfe directly, or look into other groups offering assistance during the festive season.
Happy packing, folks! 🚀🎄💪
The lunch break at the Beckedorfer Bogen industrial estate saw a gathering, where sustainable-living practices were embraced as families brought their outdoor-living essentials such as reusable bags and cartons for packing, aligning with the home-and-garden ethos of mindful consumption. In the spirit of other Rotary clubs, the group aimed to embody the lifestyle of other selfless individuals caring for those in need, as part of a widespread, other-focused movement promoting sustainable-living and community support.
