North London's most popular shopping centre has a new gem – the refurbished Kervan Sofrasi restaurant. Located within the centre, this Turkish eatery has been transformed by FIFI Interiors, creating an intimate and welcoming space with a bustling glow.
The project commenced in the summer of 2019 and the restaurant opened its doors to the public in September. The refurbishment involved a ground floor extension to increase covers, as well as a creative concept to transform the existing venue into a modern version of the restaurant.
The interior design aims to capture the essence of the original brand while attracting new customers. The colour palette used throughout the space is warm, homely, and inspired by nature, with autumnal floral foliage softening the overall look. Reflective metallic materials and textured Venetian plaster finishes add an eye-catching touch.
One of the most notable changes is the introduction of glazing to the first floor return elevation, revealing further views of the restaurants from street level. The building's dual aspect windows on the ground floor have been refurbished, resulting in an enviable dual aspect for the restaurant.
Geometric screens and planters have been designed to zone areas in the restaurant, creating a sense of privacy and intimacy. The space features an eye-catching bar servery on each level, making it the perfect spot for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap.
Lighting was a key element in producing the desired ambiance for the restaurant. Twinkling lights add a touch of magic to the space, enhancing the warm and inviting atmosphere.
The ground floor space includes an open kitchen pass area where diners can watch the chefs marinating and grilling their meat on a charcoal grill, adding to the authentic Turkish dining experience.
Since the refurbishment, the family-owned business has been thriving, with FIFI Interiors expressing their pleasure at the success of the project. The Kervan Sofrasi Wood Green site is now a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in North London.
