Today marks the unveiling of Addi's enchanting Pink and Gold Girls Bedroom, a space that effortlessly blends elegance and playfulness. Designed as part of the One Room Challenge, this delightful retreat was brought to life by a designer who typically prefers black, white, and neutral colours.
For inspiration, the designer turned to various platforms, including TikTok, Pinterest, and Etsy. TikTok offered a plethora of gold, black, and pink bedroom ideas, which were adapted to create a more delicate aesthetic suitable for a tween girl. Pinterest, with its focus on grey and pink, provided a neutral background that allowed gold to make a statement. Etsy offered unique decorative elements, such as tropical themes with gold accents, which were adapted to fit the pink and gold theme.
The colour scheme of the room is a harmonious blend of soft pink hues, gold accents, and neutral colours like white and cream. Pink is used for walls or bedding, while gold is introduced through accessories like vases, picture frames, or lighting fixtures. Gold-toned lighting fixtures and string lights were installed to enhance the ambiance, and floral patterns were used in fabrics or wallpaper to create a whimsical atmosphere.
Furniture selection played a crucial role in the room's design. A pink or white bed with an arched headboard was chosen to add a touch of whimsy and femininity, with gold accents added through hardware or decorative elements. Office supplies, such as a specific set from Hobby Lobby, were used to tie in her ghost chair, and a hanging wicker chair from Hayneedle became Addi's new favourite place to sit. The room was designed to be modern, delicate, girly, and to grow with Addi.
Similar gold curtains and curtain rods, as well as coat hangers, pink and gold girl's room items, and wall flowers, were included in the room decor.
