Refugee facility expanded to accommodate Mockern's rising refugee population
In Mocker, a multi-family house will serve as a community shelter for sixty refugees, set to open this month. The city has committed to this shelter for the following ten years, aligning with its preference for accommodating refugees in smaller shelters. The management of the shelter, as of yet, remains unspecified, as the city seeks an external partner. City social services are actively seeking additional suitable houses for refugee accommodations across the entire city area.
In the quest for more accommodation options for refugees, the city is also exploring home-and-garden transformations to elevate their lifestyle, creating a network of smaller shelters beyond the Mocker multi-family house. This innovative approach may include refurbishing existing homes to provide comfortable living spaces, thereby enhancing the overall lifestyle of refugees in the city.
