Recognition for Faithful Women of East Holstein with the Badge of Honor
In a significant event held at the Ostholstein Hall of the district administration, the Ostholstein district presented its highest award, the honorary pin, to four remarkable women this year. The event, which showcased the value and importance of volunteer work in promoting community and social life, was attended by members of the district council, mayors, mayors, and honorary mayors of the honorees' municipalities, as well as other representatives of various associations, unions, and organizations from Ostholstein district.
Dr. Uta Fenske from Eutin and Astrid Heide, founder of the "Mützenherzen" group, were among the recipients of the honorary pin. Dr. Fenske, who is also the 1st chairwoman of the Ostholstein Cancer Aid Association e.V., has been committed to helping cancer patients in Ostholstein, both during her tenure as a chief physician and after retirement. Astrid Heide, who is professionally and voluntarily committed to helping seriously ill people, sews heart pillows, port pillows, or beanies and donates them to hospices, oncological practices, and palliative care units for seriously ill women.
Heike and Klaus Wiese from Neustadt were honoured in recognition of their extensive volunteer work and community engagement. Their dedication has significantly contributed to the well-being of the Ostholstein community, particularly for their commitment to social causes and supporting local initiatives in the district.
Pamela Lepeschka, who serves as the chairwoman of the Bosau Country Women's Association e.V., the managing director of the Ostholstein Country Women's Association, treasurer, and active member of the Bosau-Hutzfeld DLRG, was also honoured. She is actively involved in several areas in the municipality of Bosau.
The new format of the honorary pin presentation allowed the honorees to speak for themselves about their commitment, motivation, and joy in promoting the community. District music school students Leni Beer, Cosima von Schubert, and their teacher Arevik Khachatryan provided musical accompaniment during the event, adding a touch of elegance to the proceedings.
District president Petra Kirner emphasized that the honorees show the importance of commitment to the common good in a community. She stated that all citizens can nominate Ostholsteiner men and women for the honorary pin each winter. The Ostholstein district's honorary pin is awarded annually for exceptional voluntary commitment.
The event was a testament to the spirit of volunteerism and community engagement in Ostholstein, highlighting the significant role these individuals play in promoting community and social life in the district.

Meanwhile, the valuable work of Pamela Lepeschka extends beyond her roles in various associations; her active participation in Bosau's home-and-garden and social events has positively impacted the district's overall lifestyle.
