People of Sverdlovsk vote for "Middle Ural" once more, as the choice moves from UGTK to Scavo Park
Middle Urals Heritage Voting: 15 Nominees Announced for 2022
Voting for the Middle Urals Heritage status is currently underway, with the deadline set for December 1. The nominees for this year's award include a diverse range of cultural, historical, and architectural sites, as well as projects aimed at improving the urban environment.
Among the nominees are the Monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgi Konstantinovich Zhukov, Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, Picturesque Blue Mountain, the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps, Park of Fairy Tales, Verkh-Neyvinsky Lojkari - folk instruments ensemble, and the Museum of Spy Nikolai Kuznetsov in Talitsa.
Other nominees include the Historical Square in Yekaterinburg, Beloyarskaya Nuclear Power Station, Artinskaya Koska, Sverdlovsk Railway, Dynamo Sports Complex, Nizhnetagilsky Tray Craft, Memorial "Black Tulip", and Ural Pelmeni - creative association.
Last year, the Irbit motorcycle "Ural" was awarded the status of Middle Urals Heritage. The award ceremony for this year's winners will take place on a date yet to be announced, possibly on the birthday of Sverdlovsk Oblast.
The expert commission of the public chamber has determined the 15 nominees for the status, with residents aged 18 and above in the region able to cast their vote through the "Gosuslugi" platform. The voting process is a significant opportunity for local citizens to contribute to the preservation and recognition of their region's cultural and historical heritage.
