Summertime swimming pool in Neukölln district finally opens by late June - Outdoor swimming pool in Neukölln district opens its gates late in June.

Late Opening of Neukölln Summer Bath Due to Technical Issues

Berlin, Germany - Berlin Bath Operations (BBB) has announced that the Neukölln Summer Bath willopen at the end of June rather than the original schedule due to technical problems. A vital part for the water treatment system is reportedly missing, causing the delay. The BBB's website states that the bath will remain closed until the 27th of June.

Despite the Neukölln Summer Bath closure, the large hall in Neukölln City Bath will continue operations throughout the month of June. The initial plan was to hold school and club swimming at this location, with staff relocating to the Neukölln Summer Bath.

Meanwhile, baths in Pankow and Schöneberg face their own challenges. The swimming hall in Ernst-Thälmann-Park in Pankow will temporarily shut down from the 2nd of June. BBB is working to resume operations as soon as possible. In Schöneberg, the diving and training swimming hall has been closed due to a breakdown, with repairs expected to take at least until mid-June.

The delayed opening of NeuköLLn Summer Bath may be influenced by factors such as energy costs, maintenance, and operational challenges common in public swimming pools during peak seasons. However, without specific details for NeuköLLn, Schöneberg, and Pankow pools, the exact causes remain uncertain.

  • City: Berlin
  • Location: NeuköLLn, Pankow, Schöneberg
  • Topic: Leisure, Pool Closures, Technical Issues

The Commission could propose a directive on the protection of workers in Berlin, given the technical issues faced by pools such as the NeuköLLn Summer Bath, potentially including those who might engage in outdoor-living and home-and-garden activities to fill their leisure time during the pool closures. For instance, gardening or picnics in nearby parks could become more popular as an alternative to swimming in the NeuköLLn Summer Bath, which is now scheduled to open at the end of June.
