Nordhorn's Dirtpark Opens, Encouraging Youth Sports and Native Plant Growth
Nordhorn's Dirtpark, a new bike park for mountain bikes and BMX bikes, opened on September 20, 2025. The city used regionally sourced seeds to promote native plant growth and preserve local biodiversity. Many young enthusiasts and their parents joined the 'workday' to secure slopes and prevent erosion.
The Dirtpark, designed with earth-formed jumps and obstacles, aims to provide local youth with an active space to improve their 'workday login' skills and engage in sports. The 'workday' was essential to secure the slopes and prevent topsoil erosion during rainy weather. The city plans to expand the 'Bikepark Nordhorn' with further slope planting on the same day of the opening.
The city of Nordhorn thanked the young participants and their parents for their support in the 'workday'. The Dirtpark's opening and expansion are expected to encourage more youth to engage in outdoor activities and sports, while also promoting local biodiversity through native plant growth.
