Neuwied joins Fairness Week 2025, emphasizing equality and diversity
The nationwide Fair Week is back for its 24th edition, running from September 12 to 26. This year's theme, "Trade Fair. Experience Diversity," promises a week filled with events that promote fair trade and sustainability across the country.
In Neuwied, the Fair Week action week is set to be particularly engaging. The kick-off event takes place on the Neuwied market square on Tuesday, September 23, with a sustainability forum as part of the "Neuwied joins in" event series. For those interested in expanding their cooking skills while learning about responsible consumption, the cooking course "Cook Fair" is a must-attend. Held at the KreisVolkshochschule Neuwied (kvhs) on Monday, September 29, the course is part of the Fair Week and will be supported by the Energy, Climate, Environment department. Registration for the course can be done via the kvhs.
The film "Made in Bangladesh" will also be screened at the Schauburg cinema in Neuwied on Wednesday, September 24, at 8 pm. This film provides an insight into the textile industry, highlighting exploitative working conditions and the fight of women for their rights.
Neuwied has been a part of the Fairtrade movement since 2018, being one of the "Fairtrade Towns." During the Fair Week, both the city and district Fairtrade steering groups will be actively participating.
