Neustrelitz Zoo Seeks Public's Help: Chestnuts & Acorns Needed for Winter
Neustrelitz Zoo is seeking the public's help to collect chestnuts and acorns for its animals this winter. From October 6th to 10th, the zoo will accept donations during regular opening hours, offering free entry to those who contribute.
The zoo requires a substantial amount: ten tons of chestnuts and five tons of acorns. Director Benjamin Schütze-Schulze has requested donations only during this period due to limited storage capacity. The harvest will be accepted from 9 am to 6 pm each day.
While specific organisations or activities for 2025 are not yet public, similar initiatives are often led by local conservation groups, volunteers, or the zoo itself. For the latest information, it's recommended to check the zoo's official website or local news sources. Alternatively, contact the zoo or local environmental organisations for details.
