Luxury Swiss villa once owned by Audrey Hepburn hits the market, priced at an impressive 19 million Swiss francs.
Take a Peek at Audrey Hepburn's serene Swiss Haven
Villa La Paisible, an 18th-century beauty nestled in Tolochenaz, Vaud, oozes a nostalgic charm that once belonged to the legendary Audrey Hepburn. Built in 1733, this expansive estate was Hepburn's tranquil sanctuary from the Hollywood limelight.
Situated behind a cement wall and away from a local barn by a road, the village cemetery where Hepburn rests is merely a short stroll away. Hepburn called this 1,000-square meter property 'home' until her passing in 1993. Here, she raised her sons, Sean Ferrer and Luca Dotti, and the family left a lasting impression on the town's residents.
Over the years, her sons occasionally resided in the house, but it was eventually sold to a family who've since moved out.
Step Inside the Villa's Original Charm
The villa boasts 21 rooms, with 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms spread across three floors. Connected by a staircase and an elevator, the rooms feature terracotta floors, oak parquet, and five fireplaces. To preserve its original appeal, the villa has undergone only minor renovations - specifically, the kitchen and bathrooms have been modernized.
Outside, the stately villa is surrounded by a 16,000-square-meter park, brimming with centuries-old trees, some of which were planted by Hepburn herself. The property also hosts white rose bushes, a gift from fashion designer Hubert de Givenchy.
