Lisdorfer Open Air festival is set to make a comeback.
On a balmy 24-degree evening on the 7th of August, the picturesque town of Lisdorf came alive with the sound of music at the annual Lisdorfer Open Air. This year's event marked a significant change, as music teacher Günter Donie, who had been at the helm for 16 years, handed over the musical direction to Tobias Rößler.
The concert began with the young percussion group "Groovin' Sticks" from the Robert-Schuman-Gymnasium, under the direction of Britta Lahnstein, setting the rhythm with their energetic performance. The evening continued with a diverse mix of classical masterpieces, rock songs, musical hits, and film classics, creating an eclectic musical journey for the audience.
The plucking orchestra "Plucking Strings", directed by Tim Beurens, took centre stage, treating the audience to a captivating performance that included both classical masterpieces and rock songs. The orchestra was joined by Elisa Leinenbach, the youth music competition national winner, who added her exceptional talent to the mix. One of the highlights of their set was a rendition of Green Day's "Boulevard of broken dreams".
The RSG choir "Polyphonix", under the direction of Daniel Franke, presented a unique interpretation of the Prince hit "Alles nur geklaut". The crowning conclusion of the event was the performance of the world hits "Imagine" and "Hey Jude" by the Saarlouis singer Andreas Nagel together with Stella Rauber.
The big band "Nambertu" and the humorous moderator Hans-Werner Strauß added their own flavour to the evening, with Stella Rauber singing "Feeling Good" with the band, and Hans-Werner providing light-hearted commentary throughout the event.
The jazz choir "United Voices" and the Kreisjugendsinfonieorchester continued the evening with an impressive musical range, ensuring that the audience was treated to a variety of genres and styles.
Patrik Lauer, the district administrator of Saarlouis, took the opportunity to thank Günter Donie for his years of dedication and welcomed Tobias Rößler as the new musical director. Tobias Rößler, introduced as a talented full-blooded musician, promised to continue the musical heritage worthily.
Approximately 1,400 music lovers attended the event, making it a memorable night for all involved. The Lisdorfer Open Air 2023 was a testament to the power of music to bring people together and create unforgettable memories.
