Gardenuity is actively working towards making gardens and gardening more reachable for all, and we're thrilled to announce our backing for the American Heart Association's Life is Why campaign. This campaign encourages people to rejoice in the arrival of spring and their personal motivations for leading a healthier, longer life – all through cultivating and sharing their produce. For every Tomato Garden sold between now and May 2024, we will contribute $5 towards the association's vital work.

Life's Purpose Campaign by American Heart Association: Gardening for Heart Wellness

Gardenuity, a leading garden farming company, partners with the American Heart Association (AHA) in an initiative to promote heart health through gardening activities. This collaboration, called the "Life Is Why" campaign, seeks to inspire individuals to care for their heart health by cultivating gardens, gardening, and harvesting produce.

More than half of American adults are currently grappling with cardiovascular disease, making it the leading cause of death in the nation. Through this partnership, Gardenuity aims to elevate awareness about the impact of gardens, gardening experiences, garden harvests, diet, and lifestyle on heart health, focusing on the benefits of growing and consuming fresh tomatoes.

In support of this collaboration, Gardenuity will donate $5 for every tomato garden they sell between now and May 2024 to the AHA Life Is Why Campaign. Gardenuity's leadership is optimistic about the positive influence gardening can have in commemorating the AHA's centennial celebration of life.

Gardening has emerged as one of the most popular hobbies in the US, with 55% of American households actively participating and over 185 million people reaping the benefits. Many corporations are capitalizing on this trend, offering gardening experiences as part of their employee wellness benefits. Gardenuity is proud to spearhead gardening for wellness for both individuals and corporations.

One means to improve cardiovascular health is by planting, growing, and harvesting your own patio garden. Typically low in added sugar, fresh tomatoes from a garden are hydrating and widely recognized for their numerous health benefits, particularly for heart health.

Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a potent antioxidant linked to a decreased risk of heart disease. Studies have shown that higher lycopene intake can improve blood vessel health and potentially lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Additionally, tomatoes offer an abundance of vitamins and minerals beneficial for heart health, such as potassium, vitamin C, and fiber.

Doug Platts, COO of Gardenuity, expressed excitement about the company's support for the AHA Life Is Why program: "By engaging our corporate partners and consumers in simple, accessible gardening experiences, we aim to foster heart health." Donna Letier, co-founder and CEO, added, "The heart-health benefits of gardening continue to astound us, and we are eager to contribute to the AHA's vital research and programs."

All Homegrown Gardens, Spring Taco Toppings, and Salad Gardens from Gardenuity including tomato plants and fully rooted seasonal herbs will be part of the Life Is Why sponsorship. Letier looked forward to the shared stories of customers' heart health journeys in support of life-saving AHA programs.

By growing tomatoes at home and enjoying their fresh produce, you can contribute to improving your heart health while enjoying the benefits of gardening.
