In Detmold, two brothers, aged around six and twelve, played a heroic role rescuing eight ducklings trapped in a nearby rain retention basin. On Sunday evening, they heard the distinctive chirping of the ducklings, which led them to the water body where they found the young birds unable to exit on their own.

Promptly alerting the fire department, the authorities arrived swiftly to retrieve the ducklings from the water. Upon arrival, they discoverd that the mother duck was nearby and expeditiously returned to take her offspring back into safe keeping.

According to the fire department's report, the rescue was a success for the eight ducklings. In such situations, it's wise to take care when rescuing waterfowl. To ensure the safety and well-being of the ducklings, it's advisable to employ gloves, coax them gently into a shallow container, and promptly place them in a safe and warm environment. For best results, contact a local wildlife rescue or veterinarian for advice on proper care and possible relocation, if necessary. It's crucial to remember to treat wildlife with care while minimizing human intervention to prevent negative impacts.

After the successful rescue of the ducklings, the brothers turned their attention to providing a safe and warm environment for the young birds at their home-and-garden. Guided by the fire department's advice, they made sure to take care when handling the ducklings, using gloves to minimize any risk of harm to the creatures and ensuring a gentle and calm process for their transfer.
