Kicking Off Culture:

Get ready to dive into an exciting new season of events as Bottrop city's cultural programs unfurl on June 12! That's when tickets for an array of events, including theater, concerts, and festivals, will be up for grabs. The Figurentheatertage, Stadtflimmern, Orgel PLUS, and more will start selling advance tickets from next week.

Martina Schilling-Graef, head of the cultural department, and her team are eager for the return of a larger audience after the COVID-19 hiatus. Yet, the upcoming season poses a minor hitch — the expansion of the Josef-Albers-Gymnasium will dwindle valuable parking spaces, exacerbating an already challenging parking situation in the city. Fear not, as a practical solution is at hand! "For the upcoming season, your entrance tickets will double as free bus and train tickets," Martina shares. "Swap the parking woes for a stress-free commute while Contributing to the Environment!"

Brace yourself for an action-packed 2025/26 season, crammed with theater performances, cabaret, jazz, chamber concerts, electronic music, and more! The incredibly anticipated 38th edition of Orgel PLUS, led by Dr. Gerd-Heinz Stevens, the recent cultural prize winner of Bottrop city, is also just around the corner.

Some captivating highlights for this season encompass:

  1. The enigmatic Hamlet production by the "Compania Sincara" ensemble in collaboration with Schauspiel Leipzig and Schaubühne Lindenfels.
  2. A comedy-packed Bottrop Laugh Night featuring popular acts like Frederic Hormuth, Anka Zink, Rene Sydow, Bora, and Roger Stein.
  3. The thrilling excellence chamber concert of the Ragnhild Hemsing Trio.

Younger audiences haven't been forgotten, with programs like "The Neinhorn," an interactive production of "Pinocchio," and the popular book and radio play series "The Three Investigators" bringing magic to the stage.

In addition to proven venues like the chamber concert hall of the August Everding cultural center, the Josef-Albers-Gymnasium's auditorium, and the Malakoff tower, there are numerous other stages where artists will transport you to different worlds with their captivating programs.

Theatertage:

The 18th Figurentheatertage unfolds this year from September 17 to 29. Not to be missed is the Long Figurentheaternacht on Saturday, September 20, in the chamber concert hall, with productions like "Don Camillo and Peppone" and "The Foot Murder and Other Love Dramas."

Stadtflimmern:

The city's centerpiece, Stadtflimmern, shines bright with a cabaret-style opening on August 29 at Kulturhof by Andreas Langsch and "Liebesalgotithmus." The event culminates on September 14 in the chamber concert hall, where Johann von Bülow reads Loriot's "The Completely Open Letter."

Don't miss out on these cultural wonders! Grab your tickets at the theater box office (Böckenhoffstr. 12 a), reachable by phone at 02041/70-3308 or email at [email protected].

Despite the information gap regarding the specific transportation promotion, Bottrop boasts a well-connected and accessible public transportation system. For more detailed information on local events and transportation solutions, consider checking event calendars or contacting the city's tourism office. Happy exploring!

Delve into the home-and-garden sector of Bottrop's upcoming cultural season by visiting the captivating productions in the chamber concert hall, such as the 18th Figurentheatertage (September 17 to 29) and Stadtflimmern (August 29 to September 14). After the performances, return to your lifestyle sanctuary, knowing that your theater ticket also serves as a free bus and train ticket, alleviating parking concerns and contributing positively to the environment.
