Iowa State Parks Organize Clean-Up Events
Iowa's State Parks Seek Volunteers for Annual Spruce-Up Day
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is inviting Iowans to lend a helping hand in the annual spruce-up events taking place across the state later this month. On Saturday, September 27th, 15 state parks will participate in this clean-up initiative, including Wapsipinicon State Park in Anamosa, Bellevue State Park, and several other local parks and forests.
These events are designed to keep Iowa's state parks pristine and welcoming for visitors. The majority of the clean-up chores will only require an hour or two of a volunteer's time, making it a perfect opportunity for individuals and families to make a difference in their community.
Andy Bartlett, park manager at Ledges State Park in Boone County, is encouraging Iowans to participate. He emphasises that volunteers are not required to bring much equipment for the clean-up events, as most supplies will be provided.
If you're interested in volunteering, the sign-up process can be completed online at iowadnr.gov. With over 15 state parks participating this year, there are likely several nearby that could use help. Statewide Volunteer Day typically attracts hundreds of Iowa helpers, so join the movement and make a difference in your local state park!
Please note that specific details about local savings were not mentioned in the current paragraph. For more information, we recommend visiting the Iowa DNR's website or contacting your local state park directly.
Let's work together to keep Iowa's state parks beautiful for generations to come. See you on September 27th!
