Instagram Serves as an Entertaining Haven for the Youthful Population
The Wow Gallery, a selfie museum known for sparking amazement among its visitors, officially opened its doors in Stuttgart this week. Originally based in Berlin, the colorful world of interactive experiences has now relocated to the Dorotheen Quarter, offering a new hotspot for the Instagram generation.
On Wednesday evening, the grand opening of the Berlin-born selfie museum was celebrated with plenty of fun moments captured through mobile clicks. Previously home to Diesel's stylish jeans, the venue now serves as a backdrop for guests seeking unique selfie spots across two floors, following the trend of immersive selfie hotspots.
Creative director and self-proclaimed "Wow-maker," Torsten Künstler, moved the gallery from Berlin to cater to a new audience in Stuttgart. Though limited to 320 square meters compared to its Berlin counterpart, the selfie museum remains an unknown yet promising entertainment option for Stuttgart residents. Despite an entrance fee of €19 or €14 (reduced), organizers expect popular demand.
Some notable attendees at the opening included influencers like hey_tatjana (17,000 followers) and miss.talina (66,400 followers), as well as Gudrun Nopper, the wife of the mayor, and innkeeper Sonja Merz. The 20 walk-in sets—each boasting bold colors and imaginative backdrops—invite visitors to create the perfect selfie or video for Instagram or TikTok.
The Wow Gallery has proven popular for children's birthdays and quirky parties in Berlin. A fully equipped photo studio can also be rented for private or business photos. The Stuttgart location, initially planned for a year-long stay, remains an experience world where art, self-expression, and social interaction blur, reflecting the power of social media.
In a world where images speak volumes, the selfie museum invites visitors to delve deeper into desires behind the smiley face and explore self-love. Visits can indeed transform into a philosophy lesson, yet laughter and appreciation for a good selfie ultimately prevail.
The pop-up gallery is located at Eduard-Breuninger-Straße 6, open from 10 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday, and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays. Reservations can be made at [email protected] or by phone at 0711 - 90734115.
