Giant Dog Gathering Celebrated: Woman from Sömmerda District Exults over Mammoth Canine Event

On September 7, the Westie Group Thuringia is inviting small dog breed owners, particularly West Highland White Terrier (Westie) enthusiasts, to a fun-filled event in Rastenberg, Germany. This annual gathering is a great opportunity for dogs and their owners to socialize, participate in activities, and possibly compete in dog shows or demonstrations.

The Event

The event, which will take place at a forest swimming pool in Rastenberg, is expected to attract around 40 four-legged friends and their owners. The day begins with a joint walk at 10 am, followed by lunch at the restaurant of the leisure facility in Rastenberg. A variety of activities are planned, including social meetups, dog shows, training sessions, and fun contests.

Registration

Interested participants are advised to register in advance to secure a spot. Registration can usually be done via the Westie Group Thuringia’s official website or by contacting the event organizers directly. There may be a registration fee depending on the activities or contests planned. For exact registration details, deadlines, fees, and the event program, it's best to check the official Westie Group Thuringia communications or contact them directly.

The Organizer

Andrea Reinhardt, a resident of Kölleda, has been the driving force behind these annual meetings since the first one in 2019. She runs a platform called "Westie Group Thuringia" on social media and regularly organizes Westie meetings. Andrea's love for Westies began in the year 2000, when she got her first West Highland Terrier. Currently, she owns a White West Highland Terrier named Zeuss (Celino vom Büchig), whom she got nine years ago.

Zeuss has been a source of comfort for Andrea, and she often showcases her love for her furry friend by wearing a t-shirt and bag adorned with dog pictures. Sandra Lippold, the new owner of the leisure facility, has graciously agreed to allow dogs in the restaurant, making it a perfect venue for the event.

Previous Events

The first Westie meeting organized by Andrea took place in Hohenfelden in 2019. In 2024, the Westie meeting took place in the city park in Sömmerda, with 19 owners and 9 dogs in attendance. The Westie Group Thuringia currently has a following of 200 members.

The seventh edition of the Westie meeting, organized by Andrea Reinhardt, is set to take place on September 7 in Rastenberg. It promises to be a day filled with fun, friendship, and four-legged companionship. If you're a Westie owner or simply a lover of small dogs, be sure to mark your calendars and join in the festivities! For more information or to register, visit the Westie Group Thuringia's official website or contact them directly.
