Gather and enjoy together – Fireworks scheduled for May 1 in Altenbeken municipality
On the community square of Altenbeken, a delightful event is set to take place on May 3rd, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The Fire Department Altenbeken is hosting a memorable day filled with entertainment, camaraderie, and celebration.
The heart of the event is the Florian's Mass, an ecumenical service in honour of St. Florian, the patron saint of the fire department. Pastor Martin Hufelschulte and Pastor Katrin Elhaus will lead the service. The historic Bahn-Orchester Altenbeken 1919 e.V. will provide the music, adding a touch of tradition to the proceedings.
The day offers a colourful programme for both young and old. The Bundesschützen Garde Musikkorps Schwaney will entertain with their music in the afternoon, while the TUS Dance group will showcase their choreographies.
A special highlight is the duck race organised by the youth fire brigade. For just 3 euros, you can sponsor a duck and watch it race towards the finish line, with attractive prizes for the fastest ducks.
The event also features a traditional association tree setting and an oldtimer tractor procession, starting in the afternoon. The historic vehicles will be displayed after the procession, offering a glimpse into the past.
