Fritz Koenig, a master horse enthusiast and Arabian horse breeder, acquired the undeveloped plot of land in 1959, marking the beginning of his artistic journey at Ganslberg. With a knack for creative interpretation, he transformed the plot into a residence, studio, and horse farming paradise that would later bear 180 foals. This visionary artist, who would have turned 100 in June 2024, embodied the spirit of Landshut's cultural scene.
The Unveiling of Kugelhalle
Between 1968 and 1983, various structures were added to the estate, including the Kugelhalle, a workshop, stables, and Africa Hall. The Kugelhalle, specifically built for the plaster model of Koenig's approximately eight-meter-high "Great Kugelkaryatide," first came to life in this enchanting landscape.

The estate's crown jewel is the unique blend of art, life, architecture, and nature, created over decades. The Kugelhalle sits at the lowest point of the area, with the residence, former stables, and workshop area opening up on either side of the central courtyard.
