The much-anticipated Giebichensteiner Summer Film Nights are returning to Oberburg Giebichenstein from the 31st of July to the 16th of August, 2025. This year, the event promises a unique twist as online voting will determine the films to be screened.
The films will be shown at the City Museum, Saaleburg, Seebener Straße 1, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Tickets for the event, priced at €8.50, include admission to the castle. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, which opens at 8 pm, or online through the dedicated website: www.unsere-website.de/summerfilmnights.
The online voting process is simple and engaging. Voters can cast their ballots for their preferred film until 10 am on the day of the screening. The results will be announced by 12 pm, adding an element of excitement to the event.
Two films already confirmed for the lineup are "The Queen and the Physician" and "Playoff". "The Queen and the Physician" is a historical drama about Johann Friedrich Struensee, a reformist born in Halle, whose life ended in 1772. "Playoff" is inspired by the life of Holocaust survivor and basketball coach Ralph Klein.
