European Beekeeping Association Holds Virtual Meeting
The Honey Producers' Association has unveiled its ambitious work plan for 2025, focusing on strengthening the beekeeping community, combating fake honey, and fostering collaborations.
Central to the plan is the organisation of significant events, such as the 2025 Synod Assembly, which will bring together nearly 300 participants for worship services, leadership elections, ministry celebrations, and keynote messages. The Assembly will also feature concerts, fellowship times, Bible study, and plenary sessions focused on ministry updates and issues of importance to the beekeeping community.
One of the key initiatives of the work plan is the fight against fake honey. Although specific details are yet to be disclosed, this fight forms part of the Association's broader mission-related initiatives or collaborations with relevant stakeholders. The Association plans to organise a round table on the topic of fake honey in the European Parliament and demand support for all bee colonies as a compensation for the pollination service of bees.
The work plan also highlights the importance of collaborations across congregations, volunteers, and ministries. The Association expresses deep gratitude for the service of volunteers, leaders, and congregations in various roles such as hospitality, technology, worship, and planning. Furthermore, the plan features art projects involving youth, such as the *Jesus, Church, and Me* gallery and postcard project, which aim to strengthen community engagement and faith expression among different age groups.
In addition to these activities, the Association will be organising webinar lectures, participating in international events, and hosting events by the Association itself. The Association has also signed partnerships with EPBA, BEELIFE, and Apimondia, and is acquiring new sponsors to support its work.
The 2025 work plan reflects a commitment to fostering community, advancing the mission, and electing leadership to continue these efforts. The Assembly, held online on April 14, 2025, was attended by 30 delegates who supported the Association's leadership in all activities and expressed support for the President to continue with the successful management of the Association.
Furthermore, the Association will publish its Magazine, and members' proposals will be included in the program, with members appointed for their implementation. A promotional campaign on Facebook is being prepared to promote European honey, and new committees will be established if necessary to ensure the active working of all scientific committees.
In summary, the 2025 Assembly work plan focuses on holding the Synod Assembly with structured worship, leadership election, and ministry celebration events, fostering collaborations across congregations, volunteers, and ministries, and engaging youth in faith expression through art projects. This plan supports the Association's mission of building up the beekeeping community and discerning shared goals for the coming year.
The Association plans to expand its collaborations not only in the beekeeping sector, but also within the home-and-garden community, with a focus on gardening and lifestyle initiatives. For instance, they aim to host workshops and seminars on bee-friendly gardening practices, encouraging the public to create pollinator-friendly gardens at home.
Moreover, as part of their magazine, the Association intends to include articles and features on home-and-garden topics, providing insights on the interconnectedness of bees, gardens, and our everyday lives. This holistic approach to living aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the role of bees in our daily lifestyle.
