### Neustaedter Bucht Primary School Summer Festival Delights Community

On July 11th, the Neustaedter Bucht Primary School in Neustadt played host to its annual Summer Festival, a joyous celebration marking the end of the school year and the arrival of summer. The event, organised by a dedicated team of parents, teachers, and school staff, was a resounding success, attracting a diverse crowd of parents, grandparents, friends, neighbours, and children from nearby kindergartens.

The festival took place under bright sunshine on the school grounds, with a variety of engaging activities designed to cater to various interests. The day began with the official opening ceremony, followed by a range of games and competitions, arts and crafts stations, performances, food and refreshments, raffles, and community booths.

Among the many activities on offer, children enjoyed sack races, three-legged races, tug-of-war, water balloon tosses, ring toss, and bean bag throws. Arts and crafts stations allowed little ones to engage in friendly competition while painting, drawing, making friendship bracelets, and creating summer-themed crafts.

Performances ranged from student talent shows featuring singing, dancing, and magic acts to local musicians and bands, puppet shows, and storytelling sessions. The day also featured collaborations with local businesses such as Golfclub Brodau, adding an extra touch of excitement to the festivities.

Meike Hoehne and parents of class 4c managed the cafeteria during the festival, offering BBQ, snacks, ice cream, cold drinks, and homemade baked goods sold by Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) members. Raffle tickets were sold throughout the day to raise funds for school projects, with prizes awarded to winners of competitions and a lucky draw.

Community booths provided information about local clubs, sports teams, health and safety awareness, and environmental and recycling initiatives. As the day progressed, all activity stations were dismantled, and guests were offered cake, coffee, and water as a farewell treat from the organisers.

The festival concluded with children being sent off into their weekend by their teachers, leaving behind memories of a wonderful day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the spirit of community.

For those interested in volunteering for next year's festival, please contact the organiser via email or phone. Parking was available on-site and in nearby areas, and the event was free with a suggested donation. Safety measures were in place, including a first-aid station and security personnel.
