Dresden fire departments had a busy day on October 3, 2025, responding to various incidents across the city. Two metal trash containers caught fire, damaging an adjacent e-scooter, while a smoke alarm in a residential building led to the discovery of burnt food on the stove.

In total, the emergency services were called out 244 times in the past 24 hours. The fire department alone attended to six fire incidents, including the burning waste containers in Dresden Neustadt. They also provided technical assistance in 11 incidents, such as supporting traffic accidents and removing spilled hazardous materials. Additionally, they responded to three false alarms triggered by automatic fire alarm systems. In one notable rescue, the fire department saved a cat that had slipped into a narrow gap between a metal container and a concrete wall.

The emergency services also carried out 193 qualified patient transports. Despite the high number of calls, the rescue helicopter Christoph 38 was not called out in the control center area.

The Dresden fire departments demonstrated their versatility and commitment, handling a wide range of incidents from fires and technical assistance to false alarms and animal rescues. Their quick response and efficient handling of these situations ensure the safety and well-being of Dresden residents.
