To create this beautiful fall addition to your home, you'll need a pumpkin or large gourd, a vase or mason jar, pruners, sharp knife, scissors, scooper, and fresh cut flowers from your garden.
Begin by measuring the circumference of your vase and cutting a hole of similar size in the top of the pumpkin. Carefully scoop out the insides, saving them for the local wildlife when the pumpkin starts to turn. Next, measure the flowers against the height of the pumpkin and cut the stems so that they reach just over the top of the hole.
Arrange the flowers and greenery to make a full bouquet, with some flowers and greenery covering the edge of the hole. Set the vase inside the pumpkin and fill it with water. If desired, supplement the arrangement with additional flowers from your own garden until it looks just right.
