Dining in historical grandeur: Tobias Soppa to partake in Eutiner Palace's kitchen from Wednesday onward

Gonna Chow Down Like a Princely Royal at Eutin's Castle Kitchen!

Swing by the Castle Museum, feast your eyes, then treat your taste buds to a scrumptious homemade strawberry cake in the castle's inner courtyard during your lunch break. Sicne June 4th, that's no dream - it's a reality, thanks to the dedicated crew led by Tobias Soppa!

This culinary genius has been playing with your taste buds at Café Thienemann in Neustadt since 2022, but now he's bringing his A-game back to Eutin. Get ready to savor the delicious lunch menu or munch on a meringue cake from the in-house pastry shop - Wednesdays through Sundays.

What's on the menu, you ask? Well, get ready to tuck into regional classics with a modern twist and Asian influences. Imagine asparagus soup, house-cured salmon, pork belly, and currywurst. Sounds mouthwatering, right?

Want to start your day off right? Swing by on the weekends to kick things off with breakfast in the castle kitchen.

The rooms have been tastefully designed to complement the baroque vibe of the castle. The color schemes match the rooms and salons on the upper floor, the chandeliers on the walls are accentuated by lighting, and some walls even feature large-format quotes from paintings and artworks in the castle. This reimagining of the castle kitchen creates a perfect counterbalance to the historical first floor.

Brigitta Herrmann, the managing director of Stiftung Schloss Eutin, shared the details of their six-figure investment, which transformed the castle kitchen into a modern culinary destination. The kitchen has also received a modern kitchen planning and an adapted room concept to create an optimal working environment. The entrance area is now bright and clear, with the cake counter conveniently situated for self-service.

Two eye-catching pieces not to be missed: the gorgeous red counter created by Nücheler joinery Holst, and the restored swing door leading into the restaurant. Just stepping foot in the castle kitchen fills Brigitta Herrmann with joy, as it's been closed for two and a half years. The moment it reopens will mark a new chapter, a decision that was clearly the right one. When asked about it, she beams with excitement.

The moment Brigitta Herrmann asked Tobias Soppa if he would take over the castle kitchen, he knew he was onto something amazing. Tobias, whose quality standards in Neustadt have never faltered, eagerly accepted the offer. He brings depth of experience to the table, with a culinary career that includes stints at Schlossberg by Jörg Sackmann in the Black Forest, the Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg, and The Newport in Lübeck.

Don't forget - if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Tobias Soppa's dishes on the Schlosskuche menu. He's been catering special events and celebrations since the beginning of the year, and his dishes are now regular menu items. On Wednesdays to Fridays from 11 am to 6 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 6 pm, you can enjoy his culinary creations.

So, whether you're visiting Eutin for some history or a delicious meal, the castle kitchen is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a princely atmosphere with even more unforgettable festivals awaiting you!

Sample food and drink offerings will be served in the revamped home-and-garden setting of Eutin's castle kitchen, providing a fusion of tradition and modernity in your lifestyle. Stop by for a scrumptious breakfast on weekends or indulge in regional classics with a twist from the diverse menu during the weekdays.
