"Denton welcomes a new cannabis retailer, a venture spearheaded by a graduate from the University of North Texas"

In the heart of Denton, Texas, a new smoke shop has made its debut, marking a significant return for local entrepreneur Andrew Brandt. The shop, named Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria, is now open at 207 S. Bell Ave., in the former Boca 31 spot.

Brandt, a native of Denton County and a University of North Texas (UNT) alumnus, completed his degree in business entrepreneurship in 2006 at UNT. His entrepreneurial journey led him to partner with comedy icons Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, and together they brought this unique concept to life.

The idea for Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria was born when Brandt and his partners, John and Cody Fisher, worked on dispensaries in New Mexico. It was there that they met Cheech & Chong's team, and Brandt's involvement helped bring this concept to his hometown. The trio also founded Dreamz Capital Investments, which exclusively franchises Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria.

The shop aligns with Brandt's entrepreneurial interests and his connection to the iconic comedy duo's brand. Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria carries about 20 other brands in addition to their own, offering a wide variety of products.

Brandt's business acumen extends beyond Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria. In 2018, he, along with the Fishers and Cheech & Chong, started a brand called CBD Pros USA. They also have plans to extend the Apothecaria chain throughout Texas and to other states.

Recently, Governor Greg Abbott vetoed Senate Bill 3, but revisions are currently being considered in a special legislative session starting July 21. If Texas bans THC products, as per Senate Bill 3, Brandt stated that it would encourage people to get cannabis products through other means.

In exciting news for fans, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong are hoping to make a stop in Denton this fall. The shop's operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It's worth noting that there are just as many active cannabis users in states where it's not legal as in states where it is legal. Despite potential legislative changes, the demand for such products remains constant. Brandt's venture into the cannabis industry underscores this fact, providing education and access to customers in Denton and beyond.

Brandt's entrepreneurial journey, initiated after completing a degree in business entrepreneurship at UNT, expanded beyond his hometown as he and his partners founded Dreamz Capital Investments, exclusively franchising Cheech & Chong's Apothecaria. This business, now a significant addition to Denton's landscape, offers a diverse range of products in lifestyle and home-and-garden sectors, such as cannabis products. As political discussions about banning THC products, like Senate Bill 3, continue, Brandt's venture serves as a testament to the consistent demand for such products. The shop's educational approach, in line with the constant demand, is a blend of general-news updates and finance strategies, ensuring customers are well-informed about their purchasing decisions. Furthermore, Brandt's latest enterprise, CBD Pros USA, is another step in the evolving cannabis industry, marking potential opportunities for future business growth in this realm, as well as in shopping and other states.
