Polestar, the electric performance brand founded by Volvo Cars, is revolutionising the automotive industry with its advanced infotainment system. This innovative system, developed by GlobalLogic, is the first to utilise Google Automotive Services head unit in Polestar 2 and Volvo Cars.

The centre display in Polestar vehicles, such as the upcoming Polestar 4, boasts a 15.4-inch, frameless screen. This display serves as a central command centre, providing access to various car and safety functions, adjusting settings, and hosting a variety of digital entertainment offerings.

The Polestar 4's centre display also features a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and a landscape orientation, offering crisp visuals for navigation, entertainment, and more. The Polestar 2, on the other hand, while not specified with a particular display size in this context, offers a user-friendly interface that seamlessly transitions between Polestar's menus and Google Play applications, similar to operating a tablet.

The driver's display in Polestar vehicles is equally impressive, with preconfigured modes to show speed, battery status, navigation, or driver assistance information. Additionally, Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4 all support Apple CarPlay, with Polestar 4 offering wireless connection, and Polestar 3's wireless offering coming soon.

Polestar vehicles also offer optional head-up displays that beam important information onto the windscreen. Furthermore, the Google Automotive Keyboard app can be downloaded for Polestar vehicles, turning the touchscreen into a computer keyboard for work and home tasks.

Google Assistant is included in Polestar vehicles for the first three years, providing features like email reading, text message reply, and calendar reminders. Setting up Google Home in a Polestar vehicle allows for control of smart home devices and vehicle functions using voice commands. This integration also enables drivers to check battery charge status and activate climate functions.

The infotainment system in Polestar vehicles can remember the settings and preferences of up to six drivers, including seating positions, mirror adjustments, and favourite apps. It also supports a wide range of apps from the Google Play store, including productivity apps, streaming services, and gaming apps.

For those seeking entertainment during electric vehicle charging breaks, Polestar vehicles offer a plethora of options. Apps like Prime Video, Tidal, Sybel, Audible, and Pocket Casts are available for watching TV shows, listening to music, audiobooks, and podcasts. Bite-sized arcade games and more involving gaming titles are available through the Gamesnacks app.

The Polestar 3's audio system is designed by Bowers & Wilkins, ensuring an immersive audio experience. Whether you're listening to music, watching a movie, or navigating, the Polestar infotainment system promises an enjoyable and seamless experience.
