Community art exhibition, Roebling Books and Baker Hunt call for artwork submissions from children aged 5 to 18
Young artists aged 5-18 have the opportunity to showcase their creativity at "The Story Within", a youth art show taking place at the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center in Covington. The event, which is still accepting applications until July 25, 2025, invites participants to paint a wooden book to tell a personal or meaningful story.
To apply, prospective artists should visit the Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center's official website for specific application instructions and forms. The artworks will be displayed on August 15, 2025, from 4-6 p.m., with a free concert by Mid Life Reverie starting at 6 p.m. (Registration for the concert is required in advance).
During the event, attendees can vote for their favourite art book. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups (5-10 and 11-18) based on popular vote and a mystery judge’s assessment. Winners will receive monetary awards, Baker Hunt certificates, and Roebling Books gift certificates.
The art show aims to engage the community’s youth through creative storytelling in visual art. Attendees can view the artworks on Friday, August 15, from 4-6 p.m., and a food truck will be present from 4-8 p.m.
For those interested in attending the free concert, registration is required in advance. More details about the call for artists can be found on the Baker Hunt website.
