Commencement of sign-ups for the Children's Village
The city of Nordhorn is excited to announce the return of the Children's City NOHhausen, an experiential role-playing game for children in grades 4, 5, and 6. This year's event, themed "A journey around the world", will take place during the autumn holidays in 2025.
Registration for the Children's City is now open and will close on Thursday, September 25, 2025, exclusively online. Interested parents and guardians can contact Hartwig Hesselink from the Youth Department of the city of Nordhorn for more information about the Children's City and the registration process.
The Children's City will be hosted at the Deegfeld school center in Nordhorn. Over the course of four days, from Tuesday to Friday, approximately 80 children will build and live in their own city, complete with a city administration, post office, bank, kiosk, craft businesses, fairground, city newspaper, and more.
The children will design and build the businesses themselves, providing a hands-on learning experience. They will also elect a mayor and city council, giving them the opportunity to shape city life. The event will be supervised by employees of the city of Nordhorn to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
This is the 13th time the Children's City is being held in Nordhorn. The project is led by the city, with daily support from educational staff of the city's youth work department. The children themselves play active roles in organising and running the mini-city.
Participation in the Children's City is 90 euros, which includes catering. Discounts are available with vouchers from the education and participation package and the NOH-Pass.
So, if your child is in grades 4, 5, or 6 and is eager to take on the challenge of building and running their own city, do not miss out on the opportunity to register for the Children's City NOHhausen. This is a unique and enriching experience that your child will never forget.
