Finisterre and Snow Peak Announce Sustainable Outdoor Collaboration for Surfing and Camping
Finisterre, a UK-based surfing brand, and Snow Peak, a Japanese camping company known for their "quiet camping knowledge," have partnered this spring to release a capsule collection of eco-friendly outdoor products. The goal is to enhance experiences at the coast, deepening connections to both land and sea.
Inspired by the brands' shared commitment to environmental responsibility, the Finisterre + Snow Peak collection features a range of durable, sustainable products tailored to surfing and camping enthusiasts.
The collection, available now on finisterre.com and in the London brand store, includes several key items:
- A 3mm Yulex wetsuit, a plant-based alternative to neoprene, reduces carbon emissions by 80% and comes in both men's and women's sizes.
- A multi-use poncho made from recycled polyester, offering waterproof protection without using harmful per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This versatile piece can be used as a changing robe for wild swimmers and surfers, a blanket for picnics, or a summer sleeping bag.
- A 24L "bucket" or tough tote bag, resembling Yeti's Camino Carry-all, durable for hauling gear, food, and even water. A smaller 12L version is also available, as well as a lightweight titanium spork for preparing meals after a day in the water.
Finisterre's Head of Design, A Todd, expresses the companies' compatibility, stating, "Snow Peak prioritizes working in harmony with nature rather than conquering it, which aligns closely with our ethos and love for the sea." The mission, Todd adds, is to encourage both surfers and campers to engage in their respective activities.
Priced between $20 / £16 and $400 / £310, the collection emphasizes creating functional, long-lasting products with minimal environmental impact while supporting both surfing and camping lifestyles.
