Fürth's Long-Standing Kirchweih Traditions Return: Ronhofer and Burgfarrnbacher Kährwa Festivals

Get ready for a week of traditional celebrations in Fürth, Germany! The Ronhofer and Burgfarrnbacher Kährwa festivals are set to take place from July 24 to July 29, 2025.

Burgfarrnbacher Kährwa

The Burgfarrnbacher Kährwa festival kicks off on Thursday, July 24. The opening event is the Schlachtschüssel (traditional meat feast) hosted by TSV Burgfarrnbach, with music by "Freddy at the Organ."

On Friday, July 25, the children’s Kährwa tree is brought in and erected, followed by the official opening by Mayor Thomas Jung at 7:30 PM. The "large" Kährwa tree will be raised on Saturday, July 26. Monday, July 28, is dedicated to families with discounted prices. The festival concludes on Tuesday, July 29, with a grand fireworks display and the traditional Kährwa burial.

Ronhofer Kährwa

The Ronhofer Kährwa festival begins on Friday, July 25, at the Festplatz In der Lohe. The opening act is the band "Moonlights" at 7 PM. On Friday, the Kährwa lads will enter the festival at an unspecified time. The official beer tapping will be performed by Mayor Thomas Jung at 8 PM.

On Saturday, the highlight is the traditional raising of the Kährwa tree, accompanied by music from the party band "Die Eckentaler Frankenlumpen." Sunday's events include a tent church service and a Kährwa procession. Monday, July 28, features the traditional Betzen dance, marking the close of the festival.
