Children and families now have a new streaming platform to enjoy, as Scholastic introduces its kid-friendly digital entertainment service.
In a move to reach wider audiences of kids across various forms of media, Scholastic and 9 Story Media Group have partnered with Future Today to launch a new streaming app. The Scholastic streamer, set to be available on global streaming platforms starting in 2026, aims to provide families worldwide with access to timeless stories that entertain, educate, and inspire.
David Di Lorenzo, Senior Vice President of Kids and Family at Future Today, is involved in the partnership and expressed his excitement about bringing Scholastic's beloved stories to new audiences. He believes that the Scholastic books and programs have been a cornerstone of childhood, bringing characters and lessons that stay with us for life.
The Scholastic app offers over 400 hours of content from the Scholastic library, including nostalgic series such as "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "The Magic School Bus," "Goosebumps," "The Baby-Sitters Club," "Animorphs," "Garfield," and "Barney & Friends." Elianne Friend, Vice President of Digital and Distribution at 9 Story, is also excited about the partnership, expressing her enthusiasm for the collaboration with Future Today.
Future Today has previously collaborated with iconic kids brands like Moonbug, Lego, and Chuck E Cheese, and the Scholastic streamer will be no exception. The app is free to download and aims to provide safe, trusted, and familiar content to children and their families. It is an ad-supported streamer through Future Story and is currently available for download on Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
Scholastic invested in 9 Story Media Group last year, and this new partnership is part of a strategic effort to expand Scholastic Entertainment's catalog across global streaming platforms. The Scholastic streamer features children's and family shows based on the publisher's IP, offering a unique and engaging viewing experience for kids and families alike.
With the Scholastic streamer, families can enjoy a vast library of content that has been a staple of childhood for generations. The app is a new offering in the children's streaming market, and with the expertise of Future Today and the beloved Scholastic brand, it is poised to be a success.
