Celebratory Event Unfolds at Outdoor Historical Site museum Hagen During Fall Season

The Hagen Open-Air Museum, managed by the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association (LWL), is gearing up for its annual autumn festival. This year, the event is scheduled for the first weekend of October, promising a delightful mix of traditional activities, demonstrations, and new attractions.

Admission prices for adults are set at 7.00 Euro, with a reduced rate of 3.50 Euro available for those who qualify. Children up to 17 years old can enter for 2.00 Euro. A family day ticket, offering entry for two adults and up to three children, is priced at 15.00 Euro.

Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities that cater to all ages. Pony rides are available for children on both days, while adults and children can compete in the "Potato Master" competition. Demonstrations and activities such as basket weaving, jewelry making, blacksmithing, and traditional sheep herding with Border Collies, the Sheepdog Trial, will take place throughout the weekend.

For those with a creative flair, the arts and crafts market offers a range of autumn-themed home decor ideas, indigo dyeing, soap art, jewelry made from glass, silver, or textiles, felting and wool products, ceramics, flower arrangements, and woven baskets.

Food and drink stands, as well as the Museumsterrassen restaurant, will offer a selection of autumn specialties, including pumpkin cream soup, onion cake, and young wine from Habbel's company, which is presenting wines from Veneto for the first time at the festival. Local poultry breeders will also showcase various breeds of chickens for visitors to see up close.

On Sunday afternoon, from 1 to 6 pm, a free shuttle bus will run between the museum parking lot and the Cartbahn Beule to facilitate easy access for visitors. For more information, interested parties can contact the museum directly at 02331/7807-0 or visit www.lwl-freilichtmuseum-hagen.de.

In addition to these activities, the regional farmers' market will offer a variety of specialties such as honey, liqueurs, sausage, cheese, jams, nuts, vegetables, and fresh fruit. On Sunday, from 2 to 4 pm, the band "Pilgerfathers" will perform in Hagen's most beautiful beer garden, adding to the festival's lively atmosphere.

Pumpkin carving and additional children's workshops will also be available on Sunday, making this year's Hagen Open-Air Museum's autumn festival a must-visit event for families and history enthusiasts alike.

Artisans and craftspeople will showcase their skills at the arts and crafts market, offering a diverse array of items including indigo-dyed products, jewelry, felted wool, ceramics, and woven baskets, catering to those with a keen interest in art and lifestyle.

Visitors can indulge in food-and-drink specialties such as pumpkin cream soup, onion cake, and Veneto wines from Habbel's company, while also exploring home-and-garden ideas from the autumn-themed decor items at the market, making the festival a delightful fusion of traditional activities, contemporary offerings, and seasonal delights.
