Boizenburg's Elbkahntheater commences a fresh theatrical season
When the Grown-Up Kids Move Back In: Navigating the Chaos (and the Charm) of a Crowded Kitchen
Get ready for a riotous rollercoaster of emotions! "Hase, Hase" at the Elbkahntheater Boizenburg is that special blend of laughter and tears, tackling the very real quandary of unexpected family dynamics—and doing it all with a delightful sprinkle of wit and heart.
Masterful Guidance with a Gentle Touch - Andreas Prüst Puts His Touch on Here
Year after year, Andreas Prüst takes the director's helm at the Elbkahntheater. With a decade-long tenure under his belt, he's no stranger to bringing out the best in each ensemble member. For "Hase, Hase," he's tastefully tweaked the original script, keeping it local and perfectly fitting for the cast.
Carsten Willers, a long-time ensemble member and co-founder of the Elbkahntheater, shares his praise: "Andreas knows just how to get the best out of us. The essence of the play remains, but we didn't want the show to drag on."
An Ensemble Bonded by Passion - and Their Day Jobs
This year, the ensemble comprises eleven amateur actors, most of whom have been with the group for a while. With a few fresh faces departed due to studies or training, the core cast remains steadfast. As Willers puts it, "[We're] not professionals, but we put our hearts into it—and it shows on stage."
These dedicated volunteers balance their acting commitments alongside their day jobs and everyday lives, demonstrating a true commitment to community artistry.
From Grassroots Movement to Cultural Pillar
The Elbkahntheater was born from a humble youth project started by Carsten Willers in his spare time. Over time, the idea of theater workshops took root, rapidly gaining traction and transforming into a thriving amateur theater group.
Though the youth project no longer exists (with a little help from Coronavirus), the adult ensemble continues to captivate audiences with their bold and heartfelt performances.
Don't miss the Show Before it Sells Out!
Tickets for the June 13 premiere are already gone, but there are still chances to catch the action for a total of seven performances at 8 pm on the Boizenburger cultural ship "Minna." Don't hesitate to experience the Elbkahntheater at its finest! Tickets can be purchased at the Elbe bookstore and the city cinema.
More Than Just a Play - A Reflection of Life, a Celebration of Community
As Willers puts it, "Community spirit starts at home." That sentiment rings especially true for this performance. More than simply a play, it's a mirror reflecting life, an opportunity for thought—and a testament to the power of community engagement in the arts.
Experience the blend of local flair and heartfelt emotions as the ensemble presents 'Hase, Hase', a unique depiction of family dynamics and the charm of unexpected living situations, such as the shared living space with grown-up kids. The production, under the expert direction of Andreas Prüst, seamlessly weaves together the fashion-and-beauty of everyday life with the laughter, tears, and real-life challenges that come with it. This amateur troupe, passionately dedicated to their art, not only brings the play to life but also exemplifies the strength and unity of a community engaged in cultural pursuits, serving as a shining example of home-and-garden spirit and the bonds that form within such a supportive setting. 'Hase, Hase' is more than just a play—it's a testament to the beauty and complexity of relationships and the importance of embracing life together.
