Around-the-clock parking is now available at Blue and Purple Line MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) stations.

The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has announced an update to its 24-hour parking services for the MRT Blue and Purple Lines, effective from July 20, 2025. This initiative aims to accommodate a city that operates around the clock and improve overall commuter experience on both lines.

The extended parking service covers a total of 18 locations across both lines, with a combined capacity of over 9,000 vehicles. The Blue Line boasts 14 locations and 4,095 parking spaces, while the Purple Line offers 4 locations and 4,923 parking spaces.

Parking rates for MRT users are set at 10 baht per 2 hours, while non-MRT users will pay 20 baht per hour. A monthly pass is available for 1,000 baht, with an additional fee at standard MRT user rates applying if parked between 1am and 5am for monthly pass holders. At the Lak Song Station on the Blue Line, MRT users can enjoy a reduced rate of 10 baht per 2 hours.

The 24-hour parking service is designed to meet the demands of a city that never sleeps. It offers convenience for passengers traveling at night for work, entertainment, or errands, and supports safer parking and seamless transit connections. The initiative aims to promote public transport usage, reduce reliance on private cars, and alleviate traffic congestion and air pollution (PM2.5).

To enhance the user experience, smart parking zones have been established. These zones come equipped with modern amenities such as clean restrooms and CCTV surveillance. Digital parking space guidance and car locator services are also available. The "MRTA Parking" mobile app facilitates easy entry, exit, and payment.

This 24-hour parking initiative reflects MRTA's strategy to accommodate a city that operates around the clock and improve overall commuter experience on both the Blue and Purple Lines. The extended parking service is intended to accommodate passengers with late-night activities and offers greater convenience for passengers traveling at night for various activities such as work, concerts, festivals, or late-night errands.

  1. The 24-hour parking service at the MRT Blue and Purple Lines aims to cater to the lifestyle of a city that never sleeps, offering convenience for individuals who work, attend events, or run errands at night.
  2. The expansion of the MRTA 24-hour parking service is not only beneficial for night commuters but also supports the push for a greener city by reducing private car use, alleviating traffic congestion, and lowering air pollution (PM2.5).
  3. The home-and-garden industry can benefit from the extended MRT parking services, as late-night shoppers and DIY enthusiasts will find it more convenient to travel and park their vehicles.
  4. This initiative by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand is a significant step towards improving the transportation infrastructure, making it more accessible for all, and boosting the finance and industry sectors through increased travel and commerce.
