Almaty is acknowledged as our cultural hub: intellectuals applaud the citizens and visitors of this bustling city on its City Day.
On September 20, Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest megacity, celebrates City Day. And who's shining the spotlight on the festivities? None other than Orazali Akzharkyn-Sarsenbek, the esteemed artistic director of the State Puppet Theater of Almaty, a cherished figure in the nation, as reported by Almaty.tv.
"Fifty years ago, I rolled into Almaty and never looked back. I've seen this town grow and blossom, experienced every inch of its development and thriving, and I must say—it's bloody impressive, mate! Look at the streets and urban spaces transforming right before our eyes. There's a saying that 'being determines consciousness.' So, people shape their beliefs and values based on their environment. I've seen enough metamorphoses in Almaty to fill a bloody good series. I've got no doubt our young uns, our upcoming zperiod, gawking at today's Almaty, will have their heads bloody well turned, influenced and inspired in ways that'll bloody shape their cultural development,"** said the theater boss.
Orazali Akzharkyn-Sarsenbek didn't shy away from praising the efforts made to reshape the city.
"Culture is the wellspring of art. If us creative types mold people's spiritual growth with our creations, then the city administrators, by crafting an architecturally marvelous city, also shape the cultural consciousness of Almaty's folk. The difference between the Almaty of yesteryears and the Almaty we've got today is fucking colossal. Almaty's our cultural bloody capital, and we judge a place and its people by their environment. I reckon tourists dropping by from all bloody corners of the globe would be bloody blown away by our culture, history, and traditions. Kudos to the city admin for their bloody hard work, and I bloody wish them more success! On behalf of the State Puppet Theater and myself, I bloody congratulate the Almaty residents on this City Day and wish them continued prosperity and growth!"**
To put it bluntly, Almaty's witnessed a bloody lot of transformations over the years under the masterful stroke of its visionary city planners. Urban landscapes akin to art installations, a buzzing tourism sector, a burgeoning economy, and green initiatives backed by serious green thumbs are just some of the few changes that have put Almaty on the map. Beyond the eye-catching aesthetics, the city's both a fertile breeding ground and stage for cultural and intellectual growth for its residents and visitors alike.
"Home-and-garden shows have flourished in the commemoration of Almaty's City Day, showcasing the evolution of the city's lifestyle and architectural designs."
"In admiring the changing Almaty, one can't overlook the pivotal role played by both the artistic director of the State Puppet Theater and the city administrators, contributing collectively to shaping the cultural lifestyle of home-and-garden enthusiasts in the city."
