Albin's Room: A Harmonious Blend of Personal Art and Practical Design
Albin has transformed his room into a cosy and functional space, combining personal touches and practical design elements.
Natural light floods into Albin's room through a corner window, where he's placed a desk. A palm plant adds a vibrant pop of colour. The desk is accompanied by an ergonomic, adjustable chair from a local second-hand shop, awaiting a fresh coat of varnish.
The room's focal point is a comfortable 200 cm bed, perfectly fitted and leaving ample space for a TV. Surrounding it are layers of textiles - cushions and a rug - that create a warm, inviting atmosphere, complemented by a blue-grey wall colour.
Storage is maximised with a clothes rack that doubles as a bedside table, replacing a wardrobe to free up floor space. Simple wooden shelves, painted to match the wall, are mounted higher up for extra space storage.
After dark, a wall-mounted reading lamp illuminates the corner, previously home to a Nordal library lamp moved up from the sitting room. A Happy Mondays print and an old drawing, possibly Albin's own work, adorn a corner gallery wall, alongside a framed family portrait.
Albin's room is a harmonious blend of personal art, functional furniture, and clever storage solutions. The use of natural light, textiles, and a cohesive colour scheme results in a space that is both practical and inviting.
